Day 13--Stewart Christmas Party and Piano Recital

My grandma Norma started the tradition, when I was just a baby, of getting all of the grandchildren together for a Christmas dinner, program and visit from Santa. The same Santa has come see us every year for almost 4o years, but we found out that this year will be his last visit. It's hard to think of our Santa not being a part of the tradition anymore. My grandma passed away 6 years ago and he was one part of the holiday that made it feel like she was still here.

The Anderson family has grown since we first started this tradition from the 16 grandchildren and my aunts and uncles to about 80 of us.

The original 16 grandchildren (missing Heidi and Cindee)
My mom hosts this family party every year and this is how we fit everyone in her home for dinner and the Christmas program--

Piano Recital
Earlier in the day Jack, Ryan and Hadley played in their piano Christmas recital and all did really well! Next time we just need to remember to have Ryan spit out his gum before his turn.

What wonderful Christmas traditions! My mother's name was Norma! You don't hear that name very often. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

Very nice blog...especially nice with Grandma Norma's picture included. She started such a fine tradition and must be pleased that we are carrying on as she did.
Also, the kids did so well at their recital. We need to have a talent show here at our house too!

Wow! Very good pianists in the family. I don't want to point anyone performer out, but I thought his sounded really nice and he wasn't chewing gum. The family party looked awesome-sad to see Santa go for sure!
