World Down Syndrome Day

Today is World Down Syndrome Day.  It’s celebrated on March 21st because Down syndrome happens when there are 3 copies of the 21st chromosome (instead of two copies) = 3/21.  I am celebrating WDSD by going to Morgan’s 3rd grade classroom today.  I plan on talking to her class about Down syndrome.  I also want them to understand their role in Morgan’s education and how their example and friendships are constantly teaching and helping Morgan.  It’s nice to know that all around the world, we are all celebrating together!

ALL life should be celebrated!

I LOVE this post!!! Great job addressing the questions that other children have. I try so hard to put good info on our blog to teach other children about Down syndrome. Spreading awareness and education is so important for other the other children that could end up in Hazel's class. Awesome!!!!

I LOVE this post!! Great answers to common questions that other kids ask. I try so hard on our blog to spread awareness and education about Down syndrome. As a teacher, I know how important it is to start spreading the info now for when Hazel is in school herself. This is great!
